Soccer Star

OK, I didn't send any orders in at all this week. Apologies to my opponents.
I always leave until Sunday evening and this week I never got round to it.

The reason for not sending in this week is a long story.
On Sunday 30/05/10 myself and David Oxley (a former soccer star stalwart of 20+ years) will attempt the "Yorkshire 3-peaks challenge" in memory of Davids father, who died of cancer late last year. Davids father Alwynne ran a kids football team which David and I played in from the ages of 11-15 years so I feel I owe him something back. All sponsorship money will be going to Sheffield Northern General Hospitals renal unit who gave Alwynne such good care. I will put a link up for the "just giving" charity website on the forum so you generous soccer star people can donate. The 3 peaks challenge is a 25 mile hike taking in Yorkshires 3 highest peaks to be completed in under 12 hours, quite difficult no doubt.
Last Sunday we had a trial run in the Peak District, 15 miles taking in Mam Tor, Win Hill, Lose Hill and Kinder Scout. When I got home I was knackered, had a beer and fell asleep, hence no soccer star orders getting done. I know it's my fault for not doing it earlier in the week so I'll take whatever punishment comes.
What happens now, do I put the games down this wee?

Partially edited your post as the first part was your wrong assumption as you have been repeatedly told ( and the second part - the post you refer to was removed to await the other two's confirmation of failed matches so all could be lumped together, nothing more than that - that post simply stated that you hadn't posted in 20 minutes of being on here so presumably you did indeed fail to get your matches played and that was true so you can hardly complain about that post anyway !!).

As to what you do now, you do what I have already stated above in previous posts. Namely you play the games as they are set out in the fixtures post.

Games are made up on the weeks allocated for making them up, as you will see in the fixture's thread.

Sorry to hear about David's father and good on you both for what you are both doing now in his father's memory.

I know Nat's orders vanished on route to Glynn again and it is looking far more likely that carnbroe and Thurmaston aren't playing games at all..not impressed and won't say any more at this point (mainly because some managers seem to mistake comments as being about them when they aren't !!).

Just to confirm if I don't see Thurmaston Blackbird complete their game shortly they will be removed from the competition and their group will become a 3 team league.

Sorry for those who are in that group but as it seems quite clear that Gary has only entered with the intention of messing the comp up for others I don't see as I have any other choice as it is either remove him or waste another 9 weeks (6 catch up weeks and 3 regular fixture weeks) waiting for him to complete fixtures he clearly doesn't intend to at which point everyone gets a 3-0 win anyway (ie the table will be unchanged).

To make this a bit fairer on the now two three team groups I will have one of the best runner's up be the best runner up from the 2 three team groups so those teams have a decent chance of progressing.

Consequently the rules will be changed to reflect that. Namely, the 10 group winners will go through, the 5 best runner's up from the 8 four team team groups will go through and the best runner up from the two three team groups will go through.

Sorry for all the hassle but when someone decides they just can't be bothered or have deliberately decided not to play games it amounts to the same thing...a lot of wasted time for the rest of us.

For what it is worth Gary will never be allowed to enter the comp in future seasons.

Should add I have checked with Glynn and Gary has got his orders in every week so the e-mail issues cannot be an explanation that he can use and as the fixtures were up a full 6 weeks' before the first game he can hardly claim to be unaware of them !!
