Charscot host Rhyl F.C in the cup, which has to be my focus with the league season dead in the water. Hopefully we can repeat our 1-0 league win from week 6. An exit will mean moving forward with plans for the new season already.

With our focus on the league anything from an away game with The Northerners will be a bonus. Actually think we will win 3-1 !

Dep El have beaten most of our relegation rivals of late but we have unsurprisingly failed miserably against the top sides and a trip to St Joseph's BC will be no exception. 2-0 loss for us.

Wascisco have somehow fluked their way to second spot in Division One and consequently we will be fixating on the league game at home to The Academy Reserves. Despite their 12th position this will be a hard match but hopefully our free-scoring ways will continue and we will win 3-1.

In the cup we have nothing to lose at St Joseph's BC. We may sneak a goal but BC will be too good for us, 3-1 loss.

Ziaste Nequeno are doing just enough to keep a gap above the relegation battle and we host bottom side Vanbrugh Royals who have lost contact at the bottom in recent weeks and are looking doomed to relegation. 1-0 to us.

Castle Rock have their own relegation threat to escape and changes are afoot both in terms of the line up and tactically for the visit of the Academy Allstars. The Allstars are still re-building in preparation for a promotion push next season and we need to win our home games if we want to survive. 2-1 to us (probably kidding myself there !)

SUPER CUP FIXTURE

SECOND LEG

BARTON BLITZ ......(1) .....v..... ...... LONG EATON ARCHERS .... (1)

S.L.F.A. CUP FIXTURES

D2 Teesside Reds v MTK Budapest D2
P Charscot Wanderers v Rhyl F.C P
P Shaolin F.C v Real Madrid P
D3 Real Blades v Zakreze F.C D2
D1 Spondon Phoenix F.C v Old Town Athletic D3
D1 Beeston Athletic v A.F.C Binfield P
D2 Requiem Shark v Carnbroe Rovers D1
P St Joseph's BC v Wascisco Red Sox

PREVIEW
We are guaranteed at least half of the final eight will be from outside the top flight as the cup once again consistently throws up shocks.
Best game of the round is Charscot (6th) v Rhyl (7th), with the hosts looking for their third cup final appearance in four seasons. Rhyl lost this game in the league 1-0, revenge at hand ?
The other all top flight meeting is fifth placed Shaolin hosting Real Madrid (11th). Shaolin won at Real 2-1 recently and a home win seems likely.
St Joseph's BC (3rd) have the safest tie of the top flight sides, hosting Wascisco (2nd in Div 1), who are focused on a promotion push.
A.F.C Binfield (8th) have had a fairly drab league season but can still make the season a success with a cup win and travelling to Beeston Athletic (4th in Div 1) is far from easy but they should have enough to progress.
The other two Division 1 sides left in the comp have very different matches. Leaders Spondon should beat visiting Old Town Athletic of Division 3 whilst Carnbroe Rovers have a daunting trip to team of the year Requiem Shark (Div 3 Champions within weeks).
Teesside Reds host MTK Budapest in a Division 2 battle. MTK are bottom but their recent form has been excellent and an away win and cup progression is on the cards for MTK.
Finally, Division 3 Real Blades, in them iddle of a promotion battle, host Division 2 promotion chasing side Zakreze F.C. Each side has only 2 defeats this season so extra time and a penalty shoot out seem likely.

PREDICTED LAST EIGHT (just to allow everyone a laugh at such bad predictions)
MTK Budapest
Charscot Wanderers
Shaolin F.C
Zakreze F.C
Spondon Phoenix
A.F.C. Binfield
Requiem Shark
St Joseph's BC

LEAGUE FIXTURES

PREMIER

The Northerners ....v.... Charscot Wanderers
Long Eaton Archers ....v.... A.F.C Binfield
Rhyl F.C ....v.... The Academy
Balham Town ....v.... Longfield K.L.F
Real Madrid ....v.... Broomhall Lions
St Joseph's BC ....v.... Dep El Celtico
Prestatyn Town ....v.... Shaolin F.C
Ziaste Nequeno ....v.... Vanbrugh Royals

PREVIEW
Leaders Long Eaton Archers will be feeling the pressure as their fifth defeat leaves a number of clubs closing in on their lofty position. Visiting A.F.C Binfield (8th) have the quality to beat anyone on their day, albeit they don't have "their day" as often as they should.
Champions The Academy (4th) are in touching distance, just four points adrift after beating The Archers and a trip to Rhyl (7th) isn't easy but The Academy are looking ominously likely to win the title again.
Second placed Prestatyn Town host fifth placed Shaolin with the visitors looking to pull level with Town with a win. Town have lost their last two home matches (one league one cup) after being unbeaten at home for approaching two seasons. They can't afford any more home defeats.
St Joseph's BC (3rd) have the easiest match hosting Dep El Celtico (14th)
At the bottom Vanbrugh (16th) look destined for Division One with any of the sides from 9th downwards capable of relegating with them. The team in ninth Ziaste Nequeno, host the Royals and a win will extend their cushion on those below, anything less than a home win and Ziaste will be fearful.
The Northerners have consistently struggled in recent seasons before pulling away and they are now 15th and have to hope visiting Charscot (6th) are distracted enough by the cup to get a crucial win.
The Northerners are on the same points as Dep El, Broomhall Lions and Balham Town with Real Madrid just two points ahead in 11th.
Real host Broomhall Lions with the winner likely to push away from the bottom.
Balham Town (13th) host Longfield K.L.F (10th). Balham are surprise relegation candidates but will pull level on points with K.L.F if they win.

DIV 1

Seabourne City ....v.... Whitebrook Rangers
Broomhall Tigers ....v.... Troon A.F.C
Callie Athletic ....v.... Rivendell
Southpool ....v.... Los Santos Cosmos
Dutch Uncles ....v.... Spondon Phoenix F.C.
Carnbroe Rovers ....v.... Beeston Athletic
Barton Blitz ....v.... Colwyn Bay
Wascisco Red Sox ....v.... The Academy Reserves

PREVIEW
Leaders Spondon still only have one defeat this season but having drawn 8 that has allowed the chasing pack to keep within distance. A trip to Dutch Uncles, who also have 8 draws, is not easy and a draw seems likely.
Wascisco (2nd) have had trouble against The Academy Reserves (12th) but they are scoring at over two goals a game and lead the division on goals score by ten. Their scoring ability should assure another win.
Colwyn Bay (3rd) have thrown away what was a good lead at the top and without a turnaround in fortune soon their excellent season will devolve into just a decent one (as a newly promoted club staying up easily is still a decent season). Away to bottom side Barton Blitz is a game any promotion contender would expect three points from but Baton still have a chance of survival (6 points from safety) and a shock may be on the cards again.
Beeston (4th) go to Carnbroe Rovers (5th) for a crucial match in the season for these two. Beeston still have what it takes to promote in style and a win in this fixture would be an excellent show of strength against a good Rovers side.
Southpool (6th) should win at home to 13th placed Los Santos Cosmos allowing Seabourne City (14th) or Troon (15th) to escape the bottom 3 with a win.
Seabourne host ninth placed Whitebrook whilst Troon visit Broomhall Tigers (7th and only 3 points off of second place).

DIV 2

Broomhall U23s ....v.... Requiem Shark
Sleaford Town ....v.... Long Eaton Terriers
MTK Budapest ....v.... Space Cadets
Zakreze F.C ....v.... Rapid Gentrification
Avlon Villa ....v.... Teesside Reds
Cookie United ....v.... Kilmarnock
Carnbroe United ....v.... Ynysfawr Athletic
Castle Rock Furies ....v.... Academy Allstars

PREVIEW
Requiem Shark's likely latest victims are Broomhall U23s (8th) who are probably finishing in Mid table.
Zakreze need to bounce back from a loss on week 19 as their second place looks under threat. Rapid Gentrification (7th) are those visitors and Rapid simply have to win as they look to elbow their way into the promotion chasing pack.
Ynysfawr Athletic (3rd) host Carnbroe United (4th) in the division's game of the day. A home win and the gap looks a large one, United get the win they go into the top 3 and the chasing pack get renewed hope.
Space Cadets (5th) would expect to sweep 16th placed hosts MTK Budapest aside but MTK have been a different side of late and suddenly look like they can stay up. The Cadets have been frustratingly inconsistent and MTK's biggest threat this week could be the distraction of a cup tie. Another home win and MTK have to have a great chance of staying up with none of the sides directly above them showing any real consistency.
The other two in the bottom three meet as Cookie (14th) host Kilmarnock (15th). The hosts look best placed to win this one with Kilmarnock stunned after a 4-1 home thrashing.
With at least one of the bottom 3 likely to win the pressure is on the three above the zone who are the only other candidates to relegate. Two of them also meet as Sleaford (11th) host Long Eaton Terriers (14th). Sleaford will be very confident after winning at the Cadets and the Terriers new manager may well need more time to get the best out of his charges.
Castle Rock Furies (12th) complete the relegation threatened sides as they host Academy Allstars (10th but well clear of a relegation battle for now). The Furies have to find a way to win some games quickly as the run in is not a good one on paper.

DIV 3

New Town A.F.C ....v.... Mancs F.C.
Bala Town F.C. ....v.... Barton Hills United
Birstall United ....v.... Greenwich Mariners
Bembridge F.C ....v.... Gleadless United
Caglibari Calcio ....v.... Real Blades
Abergarwed Athletic ....v.... British Sea Power
Blackheath Tigers ....v.... Old Town Athletic
Bank Vale United ....v.... Tempest Pervade

PREVIEW
The battle for promotion took a scalp last week as Bala Town officially gave up and put their focus on next season. The current top 3 are looking good with only Gleadless (4th) and Mancs (5th) possible challengers.

Leaders Abergarwed had a shock loss at Old Town Athletic 1-0 (a side who will be frustrated it took this long to show how good they can be - promotion likely next season ?) but hosting British Sea Power (10th) who are themselves under under new management and in the process of bringing in new players should be a easy home win.
Real Blades have an enormous week as as well as the previously mentioned cup tie they go to third placed Caglibari Calcio. Caglibari are the team that has most out-performed their skills probably in the entire league and on one will treat them as anything less than a very hard opponent now.
Gleadless and Mancs are both on the road as they go to Bembridge (11th) and New Town (14th) respectively. Two away wins on the cards there.

TWO TO WATCH

Premier Division - Real Madrid ....v.... Broomhall Lions

This match has potentially enormous repercussions in the relegation battle in the top flight. Real Madrid have been poor against the struggling sides whilst the Lions have gone from the ridiculous (losing to their main relegation rivals in consecutive weeks) to the sublime (thumping the leaders 5-1). Real know a loss will send the Lions (and possibly up to 3 other sides) above them and with Real struggling to score or keep clean sheets that pressure may be too much. The Lions have done well of late and after beating Balham another win will give them every chance of staying up. Broomhall Lions to win 2-1

Division One - Carnbroe Rovers ....v.... Beeston Athletic

These two are just outside the promotion spots in Division One, with the hosts fifth and the visitors fourth. Both relegated last season and both were thought to have every chance of bouncing straight back up. With the three teams above them all having question marks against them it is quite clear that any of the top seven have a good chance of promoting still. A draw in this fixture may not be a bad result for either side as both are likely to be contending for the rest of the season. 2-2 draw.

away day at Dutch Uncles & after drawing the earlier game of the season, can't see it being anything else with the amount of games both teams have drawn this season, also a home Cup tie, hopefully we'll progress to the next round as we're setting up for the league

Vanbrugh travel to local rivals Ziaste this week, and being the good neighbours we are I fully expect us to contribute three points to their relegation battle.

Rivendell also have a local derby away at Callie. A point would be a good result.

Beeston face a double header this week. The focus will be on the league game way at promotion rivals Carnbroe Rovers. A point is a must. Focusing on the league is likely to nullify any chance of us producing a cup shock at home to Binfield, who beat Rivendell in the last round. No revenge expected.

A big week this week for MTK. In the league we are home to Space Cadets a team we have traditionally struggled against but we are starting to play well so I wouldn't be shocked if we sneak the three points.

We are away to Teeside Reds in the cup and in the league game recently it ended 0-0 again wouldn't be surprised if we sneak a win.

Away to Seabourne this week and although they have had their issues this season, my gut feeling is we are coming away with nothing this week.

A couple of squad changes too which won't help as work on a squad for next season has begun.

A real mixed bag but Charscot won in league and cup so I am happy.

The league match wasn't our focus but as Chunks said to me yesterday his team just can't win at present and that helped us a lot.

In the cup a very good win over Rhyl 2-0.

Dep El lose 3-2 at St Joseph's BC despite putting up a decent performance. Actually scoring twice is an improvement in itself.

Wascisco have a frustrating draw at home to The Academy Reserves and we drop to third place. In the cup we completely dominate St Joseph's on their own ground with 62% of the play but we only score once and lose 2-1.

Ziaste show just how useless Vanbrugh are this season, beating them 4-0. Eases our relegation worries a lot.

Castle Rock lose again and look doomed to relegate.

The Super Cup is own by Mike T's Long Eaton Archers so all the prizes are to be claimed this week (post going up later). Well done Mike, commiserations Woody.

A 2-1 win for MTK in the league and a 3-2 win in the cup a better week in the WPL than the Opal.

As expected Vanbrugh woefully capitulated to hand neighbours Ziaste an easy win.

Rivendell score three in the last 15 minutes to snatch a draw at Callie who must be gutted not to win.

A mixed bag for Beeston, but I'm happy they won the league game rather than the cup.

Well done Mike & to Rich for running it. 8)
At least I'll have a few bob to spend on a striker to help get me out of Div. 2 next season :)

Well we'll see this time next season if it helps, remember it's me choosing who to spend it on, if I was any good at that we wouldn't be down with a third of the season still to play
