Charscot have been dire with 1 point from the lkast 3 games and as far as the league goes the season is over for us. No chance of challenging at the top, just hoping we can get enough points to not end up in the relegation fight.
Our focus consequently will be on the cup this week as we travel to Vanbrugh Royals, bottom of the Premier. Our away form is dire, with just one win all season. However, that win was at Vanbrugh 1-0 so hopefully we can win again. 2-1 to us after extra time.

In the league St Joseph's to win 2-0.

Dep El are my only side without a cup game, which is handy as they need to focus on the league frankly, sitting 14th. We host Rhyl, who have a local derby in the cup, and hopefully we can exploit their cup distraction and win 1-0.

Wascisco are a weird side. Awful half the time, unplayable every now and again. In the cup we host Whitebrook and with us currently somehow in 4th place the cup match will be ignored. 2-0 to Whitebrook after extra time.

Meanwhile we go to Rivendell who are 12th. As the second highest scorers in the league hopefully we will have too much going forward and will win 3-1.

Ziaste have a weird week as not sure what to focus on. In the league we go to The Academy, which looks a slam dunk defeat, and we need points to avoid the relegation battle whilst in the cup we travel to Old Town Athletic who we really should beat regardless of focus. 2-0 loss in the league, 3-0 win in the cup.

Castle Rock have to focus on the league (no chance of winning the cup) so Spondon should have no trouble sweeping us aside 3-0 on our own patch. In the league we go a rejuvenated Space Cadets side and we will get thumped 4-1.

SUPER CUP FIXTURES

S.L.F.A. CUP FIXTURES

P The Northerners v Beeston Athletic D1
P A.F.C Binfield v Rivendell D1
D3 Abergarwed Athletic v Zakreze F.C D2
P Prestatyn Town v Rhyl F.C P

D2 Requiem Shark v Los Santos Cosmos D1
P Longfield K.L.F v Teesside Reds D2
P Shaolin F.C v Long Eaton Archers P
D3 British Sea Power v MTK Budapest D2

PREVIEW
The cup has four all top flight matches with the likely live match being Mike T playing himself as his excellent season sees hosts Shaolin in fourth and Long Eaton Archers visiting as leaders of the league. Looks a cert for extra time.
Another Mike playing on his own should provide the next best match as Prestatyn Town, third in the league, repeat their week 16 fixture at home to ninth placed Rhyl. Another home win seems likely.
Real Madrid (10th) and Balham Town (12th) are separated by a solitary point and this is another extra time candidate.
The last of the four all top flight matches should be a mismatch as Charscot, in poor form but still sixth, travel to bottom side Vanbrugh Royals. Charscot have one away win all season, but it was at Vanbrugh (1-0). Royals could easily win this one.
Of the other 5 top flight sides the one in most danger of a major cup shock will be Ziaste as they travel to Division 3 side Old Town Athletic. Athletic are 14th and have not had the season many expected but winning this game would surely be a big boost going forward. That being said Ziaste should win this fairly easily.
Two top flight sides host Division One sides as Guy's Division One sides are both on the road looking for a cup shock. Beeston have the better chance as they could easily replace The Northerners at the end of the season in the top flight so a win at Chunks' under performers is a possibility.
Rivendell travel to A.F.C Binfield and if the hosts play to their skills they will win.
The remaining two Prem sides are at home to Division 2 sides and will be expected to win. Cup holders Longfield K.L.F should beat Teesside Reds and after scoring 6 on week 16 the Reds could be in for a thrashing.
Likewise St Joseph's should make quick work of Rapid Gentrification.
Only two matches between Division One sides, Carnbroe Rovers v Southpool (3rd v 8th) and Wascisco v Whitebrook (4th v 11th). Both visiting sides could have a good chance with their opponents more focused on the top 3.
The two matches where Division 2 sides host Division One sides couldn't be more different. Struggling Castle Rock have no hope against leaders Spondon whilst Division 2 Champions-elect Requiem Shark will likely thump struggling Los Santos Cosmos.
The final 3 matches are between Division 2 and 3 sides. The one Division 2 side at home, Academy Allstars will have a hard battle with Real Blades, going well in third place.
MTK Budapest will be glad of a break from the league and they should win at British Sea Power but the danger of a cup shock is high when a team only has one win all season in the league.
Finally leaders Abergarwed host Zakreze, second in two, for a meeting of form sides.

LEAGUE FIXTURES

PREMIER

Charscot Wanderers ....v.... St Joseph's BC
A.F.C Binfield ....v.... Prestatyn Town
The Academy ....v.... Ziaste Nequeno
Longfield K.L.F ....v.... The Northerners
Broomhall Lions ....v.... Long Eaton Archers
Dep El Celtico ....v.... Rhyl F.C
Shaolin F.C ....v.... Balham Town
Vanbrugh Royals ....v.... Real Madrid

PREVIEW
With halfway reached it is safe to say teams are fully deserving of their positions, good or bad and we now have a good idea who is likely to be successful or failing.
Bearing that in mind we start with two sides who are both in positions that will surprise many but both have earned their positions at this point. Leaders Long Eaton Archers have proven everyone who doubted them wronbg and they are clearly in a great position to take the title. Travelling to Broomhall Lions, 15th and struggling to beat their fellow strugglers, always a bad sign, should be another win for the Archers.
St Joseph's BC need to bounce back from losing top spot last week and a trip to off form Charscot (6th) should suit them well.
Prestatyn Town (3rd) are as big a surprise as the Archers and have seemingly come through a sticky patch but face a big test at A.F.C Binfield (8th).
Fourth placed Shaolin are in contention and visiting Balham Town, 12th and surprisingly struggling, will be a test all the same.
The only other team with any title aspirations that are still realistic is Champions The Academy, who are surprisingly fifth and need to put in a winning run if they want to get truly in the picture. At home to Ziaste (11th) should be an easy win to start that run.
At the bottom two big matches as bottom side Vanbrugh have to bounce back from a 0-6 loss and beat Real Madrid (10th) to both give themselves hope and drag Real back into the quagmire.
Longfield are looking safe in seventh place and can put The Northerners in more trouble with a home win.

DIV 1

Whitebrook Rangers ....v.... Carnbroe Rovers
Troon A.F.C ....v.... Barton Blitz
Rivendell ....v.... Wascisco Red Sox
Los Santos Cosmos ....v.... Seabourne City
Spondon Phoenix F.C. ....v.... Broomhall Tigers
Beeston Athletic ....v.... Callie Athletic
Colwyn Bay ....v.... Southpool
The Academy Reserves ....v.... Dutch Uncles

PREVIEW
Leaders Spondon have sixth placed Broomhall Tigers visiting with a draw the bet.
This would allow Colwyn Bay to Swap places with Spondon again by beating Southpool (8th) who are struggling for wins of late.
Third placed Carnbroe Rovers will expect to win at slumping Whitebrook (11th), who will be getting nervous at getting so close to the bottom three.
Wascisco (4th) have a local derby at Rivendell (12th) and will hope to keep their scoring touch going.
Two sides that have flirted with the top 3 but are still only showing flashes of consistency are Beeston (5th) and Callie (7th). One of these two needs to get on a winning run in what is an open division for third place at least.
The bottom two sides meet and with Barton fresh off of a superb last gasp win they need a repeat win to pull level with hosts Troon and make the relegation battle that bit more competitive.
Directly above these two are Los Santos (14th) and Seabourne (13th) who meet at Los Santos in a week that could re-shape the relegation fight.

DIV 2

Requiem Shark ....v.... Cookie United
Long Eaton Terriers ....v.... Carnbroe United
Space Cadets ....v.... Castle Rock Furies
Rapid Gentrification ....v.... Broomhall U23s
Teesside Reds ....v.... Sleaford Town
Kilmarnock ....v.... MTK Budapest
Ynysfawr Athletic ....v.... Zakreze F.C
Academy Allstars ....v.... Avlon Villa

PREVIEW
Requiem Shark are clearly winning the division and will beat Cookie United (15th).
A great battle as Zakreze (2nd) go to Ynysfawr (3rd). An away win and Zakreze will be clear of third by 8 points and likely up with Requiem.
Carnbroe United have quietly slipped into fourth place and should win at Long Eaton Terriers (13th).
Another side at the bottom, Castle Rock (14th) also have no chance as they go to Space Cadets (5th).
With 3 of the 6 relegation sides staring at losses the Kilmarnock (12th) v MTK Budapest (16th) match up is crucial. Kilmarnock will expect to beat a side with one league win all season if they are to avoid relegation. MTK know they simply have to beat the teams at the bottom to have any hope at all of surviving as they are already 8 points from safety.
Academy Allstars (6th will hope Avlon Villa's (10th) return to form is brief as they look to stay in touch of third place.

DIV 3

Mancs F.C. ....v.... Abergarwed Athletic
Barton Hills United ....v.... Blackheath Tigers
Greenwich Mariners ....v.... Bank Vale United
Gleadless United ....v.... New Town A.F.C
Real Blades ....v.... Bala Town F.C.
British Sea Power ....v.... Birstall United
Old Town Athletic ....v.... Bembridge F.C
Tempest Pervade ....v.... Caglibari Calcio

PREVIEW
The top five are in their own battle for promotion and it is possible four of these sides could all sit on 30 points this week.
Mancs (5th) can move level with Abergarwed (top) with a home win.
Caglibari will move onto 30 points with a win at bottom side Tempest.
Second placed Bala go to third placed Real Blades and the winner of this match would be on 30 points.
Outside the top five the teams are fighting mainly for pride at this point and planning for next season.

This is a very big week for MTK this week as they need to double their wins for the season and win both games.

The only team to beat us in the league so far & as Rich predicts would take a point at this stage of the season, to keep the points tally moving along

So here begins the second half of the season. The first half has been a bit of a mixed bag with improvements required all round.

Vanbrugh had a disastrous start, but have turned things around lately and now have a slim chance of avoiding relegation. A win against Real Madrid this week, is probably a must. It might make more sense for me to concentrate on the cup, so a victory over local rivals Charscot is possibly on the cards.

Rivendell are not unsurprisingly in the bottom half of the table. Whilst a recent 8 game unbeaten run sounds good, 6 have been draws; these need to be converted into wins to avoid a relegation scrap. Another local derby against inform Wascisco awaits and a chance to avenge our opening day drubbing. I suspect another draw awaits. A loss in extra time is the best Rivendell can hope for away at Binfield in the cup.

Beeston have been the height of inconsistency, which needs to be eradicated if they are to prove preseason predictions correct. A victory at home to Callie would be a good place to start. Potential for a cup shock away at The Northerners, but home advantage may just give them the edge.

Blackheath have performed totally as expected being in training mode.

Greenwich have surpassed all expectations as a training team. Surprisingly teams have failed to break them down resulting in only 3 defeats and 10 goals conceded.

Two very tough games this week.
Would be happy to win either.
Just a draw in the league would do

Whitebrook are not where I hoped they would be at this stage and so we have half a season to turn it back around.

Starting with a tough looking home game against 3rd place Carnbroe Rovers. Would take a point to half the slide and then look to move forward.

We are also in cup action against fellow Div 1 side Wascisco Red Sox. Their season has very much followed a similar path to ours but they have recovered over last 2 weeks with 2 wins which sees them 6pts ahead of us but sat in 4th rather than 11th where we are currently. Guess I can suggest a draw which might lead us to the penalty shootout where it's anyone game. Cup is lower priority also though as need league points.

MTK Budapest have frustrated me all season, as Rich said the other week there has been injury problems but the teams that have been selected over the first half of the season should have been doing better.

I'd be very disappointed if we lose the cup game but at the same time we should be beating Kilmarnock too.

A very mixed week that has some big highs and one truly abysmal result

Starting with the great. Charscot win both matches, replicating our 1-0 league win at Vanbrugh and getting an exceptional 2-0 win over St Joseph's in the league.

Dep El don't impress as they lose 2-0 at home to Rhyl and we drop to 15th and now 3 points from safety.

Wascisco get a so-so draw at Rivendell and a 2-1 win over Whitebrook in the cup.

Ziaste. Oh dear  The good ? We get an excellent 2-1 win at Champions The Academy that gives us some breathing space to the bottom 3. My tactics were set up for the league as I felt we needed to try and get something from our game and (wrongly) assuming the cup game would take care of itself. It didn't. Lost 1-0 at Old Town. Well done John. Even with my tactics focused on the league we should be winning that match up so all credit to John :)

Castle get the two expected defeats, can't complain when playing a promotion chaser and a team top of a higher division.

In the cup a few shock results and even bigger than Ziaste losing the prize has to go to Craig's Teesside Reds who go to the winner of the cup for the last two seasons and record an excellent 3-0 win to knock Longfield out. A proper old-fashioned cup shock.

Both semi-finals played and Long Eaton Archers progress to the final. Next week we see if it is the Mike T final or not..

Whitebrook record a fully deserved and much needed win over Carnbroe this week. It was a game we led 3 times in and finally the 3rd goal put paid to their comebacks  Huge win and next week will see which way we are going as currently 6pts from 3rd and 6pts from 3rd bottom!!

Lose in the cup to Wascisco in what seemed an even game, but a nightmare minute from us saw the lead slip away and us fall behind. Couldn't find a leveller after that.

Good grief......

How does that happen!

An Old Town side who have struggled for any sort of form at all run riot over Bembridge FC in the league and are extremely unlucky to only come away with a point, and then clinch a ridiculous 1-0 win over Ziaste.

The last 6 weeks have yielded some much more positive results for Old Town, despite a few losses, so it is a case now of a few experiments between now and the end of the season in preparation for next season. And of course, having a right good go in the cup!!

As for New Town, the quality of their squad should hopefully show through next season, but again some more experimentation in the 2nd half of the season is needed.

A much needed league win closes the gap on teams above MTK and a win in the cup too.
