As we reach the halfway point in the season not one of my sides has anything to be optimistic about. Would say four of my five sides are under performing with only Ziaste not fitting that description (and they are sadly getting closer to where they belong, the bottom 3, by the week).

Charscot started the season well but have fallen away, mainly due to our rubbish away form. Our final match before the halfway point sees us host Broomhall Lions. We have hosted them 7 times before, with five wins and one loss. Our last four home meetings we have scored at least 3 in each game whilst winning. Throw in that they are 15th and struggling and this becomes a game we simply have to win. 3-1 to us, although heaven knows where the goals for us will come from !

Dep El are victims of my tinkering as I chose to make wholesale changes as it became clear early on that we couldn't score goals. Whether the new players can only time will tell but our lack of player forms is not helping now. We go to A.F.C Binfield who should beat us but who are an inconsistent lot, one week looking like world beaters, the next like they are incapable of making a simple pass. Should lose 2-0, may sneak a 1-0 win !

Wascisco started on fire but have dropped into a Mid table position that they seem unlikely to lose due to a lack of consistency. We host Southpool, who have gone a little off the boil of late. A month ago an away win would have been my prediction, on current form a 1-1 seems likely.

Ziaste started well and have slowly dropped down the table. Now just 3 points off of a relegation spot, time to worry. We host Balham Town, surprise strugglers, who I expect to still finish in the top half. Balham to win 2-0.

Castle Rock have been very poor. Should be top 6 we have spent most of the season in the bottom 3. We have a run of fixtures likely to see us drop back into the bottom 3 now starting with the visit of Zakreze. 3-1 loss for us.

SUPER CUP FIXTURES

SEMI FINALS

1st LEG

REAL BLADES ...... .....v..... ...... LONG EATON ARCHERS
SHAOLIN F.C ...... .....v..... ...... BARTON BLITZ

LEAGUE FIXTURES

PREMIER

St Joseph's BC ....v.... Long Eaton Archers
Charscot Wanderers ....v.... Broomhall Lions
Prestatyn Town ....v.... Rhyl F.C
A.F.C Binfield ....v.... Dep El Celtico
Ziaste Nequeno ....v.... Balham Town
The Academy ....v.... Shaolin F.C
The Northerners ....v.... Real Madrid
Longfield K.L.F ....v.... Vanbrugh Royals

PREVIEW
Game of the day is the meeting of the top two as Long Eaton Archers visit St Joseph's BC. Amazing that the Archers are still in the battle, any points from this game and the Archers will go into the second half of the season having proven they can keep in the fight.
Prestatyn Town (3rd) have lost their way with too many draws and look likely to be consumed by the teams below in the coming months. Hosting Rhyl will do them no favours with Mike W's sides cancelling each other out in most of the meetings in recent history.
The Academy (4th) as reigning double Champions still look the most likely side to stop BC winning the league and if they beat Shaolin (5th) the gap should open up below them.
At the bottom just two wins separate 9th placed Longfield and the bottom side Vanbrugh. They meet at Longfield this week and Vanbrugh will be hopeful of getting something with just two losses in their last 7 games, both to teams managed by yours truly.
Broomhall Lions (15th) have an atrocious record at Charscot (6th) and they haven't played well when it mattered against fellow strugglers. With nothing to lose and Charscot off of their game a shock away win is possible here.
Dep El (14th) go to a similarly inconsistent A.F.C Binfield (8th) and this week could see the bottom 3 all record shock away wins...or easily all get thumped.
The Northerners (12th) and Real Madrid (13th) have both had seasons to forget so far this season and both seem unlikely to pull away from the relegation fight completely anytime soon. The hosts had a bid win on week 15 and a repeat this week will certainly ease their worries.

DIV 1

Carnbroe Rovers ....v.... Broomhall Tigers
Whitebrook Rangers ....v.... Spondon Phoenix F.C.
Barton Blitz ....v.... Callie Athletic
Troon A.F.C ....v.... Beeston Athletic
Wascisco Red Sox ....v.... Southpool
Rivendell ....v.... Colwyn Bay
Seabourne City ....v.... Dutch Uncles
Los Santos Cosmos ....v.... The Academy Reserves

PREVIEW
Colwyn Bay returned to the top after briefly dropping a spot for a few weeks and they travel to Rivendell (12th) no doubt expecting a win. However, Mike's record against Guy is not good and Rivendell should get something from this match.
Spondon Phoenix being second is a shock to practically everyone and a trip to Whitebrook (11th) should hold little fear. However, Razor won't be too confident when facing Carl, who can pull off a surprise win here and allow the chasing pack to close up.
Beeston have eased into third place and finish the first half of the season with a trip to Troon (15th) who saw their mini revival end on week 15. Beeston should win this one.
The chasing pack (fourth to sixth) all need to bounce back from dropping points last week as only Carnbroe Rovers avoided defeat. Broomhall Tigers (4th) visit Carnbroe Rovers (6th) and the away team will be favoured to win.
Fifth placed Callie Athletic have had a far better season than recent ones but whether they can actually make it into the top 3 is unclear. They should win this week, visiting rock bottom Barton Blitz, who look doomed after a crucial loss on week 15.
At the bottom Los Santos Cosmos can still escape but need to find some form quickly and a trip to The Academy Reserves (disappointingly 9th but still capable of making a promotion run) will be a hard match to get anything from.

DIV 2

Cookie United ....v.... Sleaford Town
Requiem Shark ....v.... Teesside Reds
Carnbroe United ....v.... MTK Budapest
Long Eaton Terriers ....v.... Kilmarnock
Castle Rock Furies ....v.... Zakreze F.C
Space Cadets ....v.... Ynysfawr Athletic
Broomhall U23s ....v.... Avlon Villa
Rapid Gentrification ....v.... Academy Allstars

PREVIEW
Requiem Shark are already 17 points clear of fourth at the top of the division and promotion and the title will be theirs fairly quickly. Visiting Teesside Reds (8th) have yet to draw a match this season and that record is unlikely to change with the Reds arriving on the back of a four goal loss.
Zakreze (2nd) and Ynysfawr (3rd) look sure to promote too barring a collapse. This week Zakreze have an easy game at struggling Castle Rock (13th) whilst Ynysfawr have a tricky trip to Space Cadets (6th) who need to beat Athletic to move within 3 points of them and get closer to their usual league position (top 3) at this stage of the season.
Academy Allstars (4th) are having an excellent first season under the management of Lee and a win at Rapid Gentrification (9th) will keep them in the hunt.
Likewise Carnbroe United (5th) should win as they host bottom side MTK Budapest who have had a nightmare season in terms of injuries that have hampered their progress after promotion.
Cookie (15th) host Sleaford (11th) and simply have to avoid defeat to keep Sleaford in the relegation battle.
Long Eaton Terriers (14th) host Kilmarnock (12th) and a home win will pull Killie into the relegation battle completely.

DIV 3

Abergarwed Athletic ....v.... Bala Town F.C.
Mancs F.C. ....v.... Real Blades
Blackheath Tigers ....v.... Birstall United
Barton Hills United ....v.... British Sea Power
Bank Vale United ....v.... Bembridge F.C
Greenwich Mariners ....v.... Old Town Athletic
New Town A.F.C ....v.... Caglibari Calcio
Gleadless United ....v.... Tempest Pervade

PREVIEW
The top two meet in a match that looked like a cracker before Bala's poor loss on week 15 left yet more questions about the visitors bottle when it counts. Athletic look like having the edge this week.
Bala are one of four teams on 26 points and no one below this group looks like going up now.
Real Blades (3rd) go to Mancs (5th) in another big battle in the division this week. Mancs miserly defence will be tested by the Blades attack.
Caglibari (4thh) go to New Town (11th) and should gain on many of those above them with a simple away win.
Whilst Gleadless United (6th) are four points adrift of the top five they will make up ground on a club or two with a win over Tempest Pervade, still winless this season.

TWO TO WATCH

Premier Division - St Joseph's BC ....v.... Long Eaton Archers

One of two top of the table meetings this week. Both these sides have been around the top all season and BC lead the league from the Archers by 4 goals. No one expected the Archers to be title challengers, outside of their (admittedly biased) own manager but here they still are proving their doubters wrong. BC have done well to bounce back from last season's agonising loss in their title chase and they seem determined not to repeat that experience. A hard match, home advantage may be the decider. 1-0 to BC.

Division Three - Abergarwed Athletic ....v.... Bala Town F.C.

Abergarwed have been in the promotion spots basically all season and with just one defeat and 7 goals conceded seem certain to be playing Division 2 football next season. Bala had a poor start to the season despite having clearly the bets line up in the division. They seemed to have finally sorted things out building their push to second placed on the back of a defence that stopped conceding at all. However, Bala had a defeat on week 15 that left questions of their consistency to re-surface. Bala should go up but as with the first selected match above hom advantage should be the decider. 1-0 to Athletic.

Continuing to think positively with Vanbrugh, a 1-0 win away at Longfield this week.

Rivendell having league leaders (then) Spondon at home last week are now at home to the current league leaders Colwyn this week. A recent league run of 7 unbeaten, albeit with 5 draws, may well go this week, but I said the same last week!

I keep saying it but Beeston do need to find some consistency. A good away win last week at strugglers Los Santos needs to be followed up this week away at Troon.

Agree with the 1-1 prediction made by Rich, but decided to change things this week so it could blow up in my face which is usual

Going to be extremely tough for MTK to get anything out of our game this week. We will keep going though, I have to believe that we can stay up.

Whitebrooks season is in danger of going the wrong way after an initial promising beginning which has soon gone badly wrong. We host a Spondon side who have only tasted defeat once but have drawn almost as many as they have won so there is hope we can get something from the game. If anything like the WS I should win this   but it's anyones guess which Whitebrook side will show up!

A couple of changes to the squad in a bid to 'freshen' it up a bit so fingers crossed the new signings give the existing side the rocket they need.

Live and die in terms of happiness based on Charscot so a 1-1 draw at home to a side we usually win against convincingly at home who are struggling to stay up is not a good result.

Dep El got a creditable draw at A.F.C Binfield, still in deep trouble though.

Wascisco are having a strange season where every once in a while we thump someone. After a 7-3 v Seabourne on week 9 we now beat Southpool 5-1. Ingelsson gets a hat trick from midfield, not bad for a player who we bought from Charscot.

Ziaste draw with Balham, again not the worst result as we usually lose that game.

Castle Rock lose 2-0 as expected and drop back into the bottom three.

Only one of the semi's in the Super Cup is played. Never usually have issues past the group games but this season is not proving an easy one...

Spondon overcome the voodoo that is Carl  & get a great win on the road, with an ex player of mine helping us with that  we return to the top on goal difference & face the only team that have beaten us in the league next

KLF switched things about for Vanburgh's visit and it duly paid off with an epic 6-0 win. Mehmet Scholl was awesome with a 5 goal second half haul :)

Least said the better about Vanbrugh's performance this week  . All credit to Longfield who totally ripped us apart.

Rivendell got another good draw against a top team, whlist Beeston's inconsistent form continues
