After 10 seasons away, I’ve taken over my old club, Alperton Athletic, and they are in a sorry state. When I left in Season 20, I’d taken them from Division 3 to the Premier League in successive promotions, and kept them up. Alperton even reached the SLFA Cup semi-finals during the climb. Since then, though, it has all unravelled.
Alperton now have the dubious honour of the most wooden spoons in Soccer Star 2 history, with four.
That cannot stand.
The club still has huge potential: Brent Park holds 78,000, making it one of the biggest stadiums in the league, and there are still a few familiar faces from the previous era, including Brandon Woodruffe, Victor Collier and Gregory Blamire.
The midfield has the makings of something decent though the rest of the squad needs re-building . The plan for now is stability first: the long-term mission is simple: restore Alperton to the Premier League.
