Soccer Star

This is another one that I think can be simplified and improved in SS2.

So, I'm thinking of having players retire at a set age, for starters (e.g on their 38th birthday). The randomness in SS1 doesn't really add anything except a bit of luck, which isn't necessarily a good thing, especially if it's an extra 2 seasons for an amazingly good player. Also, because players currently retire at different times, it can be confusing during transfers and the game has to notify you that the player is retiring. If they all just retire on their 38th birthday, it should be simpler and fairer.

The only downside is that this will mean that players will retire mid-season since they now age at different times. If this is a huge problem, I'll try to think of a solution to it.

Sounds good to me. Least you have the option to plan for when they retire as you know when that will be, rather than guessing on week 31 whether they will or wont come week 1

Sounds good. Are all players going at roughly the same age? I only ask as GK's often play on longer than outfield players so thought I'd ask.

I read the bit about he was thinking of them retiring at a set age (eg 38th birthday) and responded from there. Guess that was thinking aloud as such as he almost confirms it later as you said
