I've added an option to the user panel where you can now log in to unmanaged teams, just to look at them (in case you're interested in taking them over). You shouldn't be able to do any orders and a lot of the information needs to be added. I don't want to encourage people to log in to every team over and over because it will eat bandwidth. People could use it for easy scouting, so some of the information will need to be removed probably (a lot already is), but I'm not sure what needs to be removed. On the other hand, it will probably be useful for people looking to take over teams and could probably be automated (i.e if can have a 'I want to manage this team' button). Even then, to ensure people don't take a team, make a few changes, then drop them without paying, it would need some sort of rule, e.g you get charged immediately for one turn. Not quite sure if this will work but let me know what you think.

I have already spotted a problem with this. A manager could theoretically take control of a team he's about to play again (even if it costs 85p), change their squad to the worse squad possible, then drop them the week after. Theoretically you could do this with SS1 too and it would be just as hard to spot.

The solution might be to announce on all sheets all manager changes so that the community can keep an eye on it more closely. In SS1, it's fairly common to take control of teams just to look at them, with a view to manage them. This is fine but it's very time-consuming at my end and it would be nice to automate it, but not to open up potential exploits.

Do I take it fromthis that there will be no "scout team" facilities, as I use this a lot.

I always scout whoever I am meant to play week 1 or whoever I play in the cup.

No, there'll still be scouting. Which is why I don't really want this to be available for scouting. It'll use bandwidth if people do that. At the same time, it would be nice to allow people to look at teams and choose one to manage. But I'll need a way to stop people from exploiting it.

Do you think anybody would pay 0.85p to possibly secure a win?

Sounds like great value, Mike lol

Don't doubt it for a second. Managers have done far more for far less sadly.

Just to clarify, I was referring to the position of Mike's decimal point, meaning I could buy a divisional championship for considerably less than a £1 ;-)

Yeah and if you look at online games today, the 'pay to win' mentality is prevalent. One obviously solution which I'm considering (and probably mentioned above) is to put all management appointments and resignations on every turn, maybe in it's own section. That way, the community can keep an eye on it. If anybody takes a team who they're about to play with another of their teams, people can check for dodgy results and get me to check to see if the line-up has been deliberately weakened.

The way SS2 works compared to SS1, with instant orders, things will have to change slightly anyway. Theoretically you could do this in SS1 already, but you'd have to take a team, do your orders, send them in, then wait a week to change the squad back. If anybody was suspicious right now, we have a week to check it out. In SS2, you can cover your tracks more quickly. Make the changes at the last minute, get the result, change the squad back. So it really needs people to watch out for dodgy stuff like this. And frankly, making them pay for a turn isn't going to make any difference anyway because it won't deter some people.

Needs some other solution really....

Is it possible for turns to open in a new window, or have a button to go back to the start/team selection screen?

That applies to looking at unmanaged teams, but also your own teams. It works now, as we only have one team, but obviously our obsession would lead to multiple teams, as per ss1!

Should pretty much work like any window. You can open multiple browser windows, so yes, you could have 10 teams open at once. I see your point that you'd need to type in the url each time, so a button could be useful, though not sure where to put it. So you mean like something at the top that just says 'Go back to team selection'? Bear in mind that that would of course close the current team.

No, I want to do away with culling altogether. The only reason it happens now is due to imbalances in SS1. Mind you, the unmanaged teams might cull themselves, as they do in SS1 already, but otherwise no, no manual culling. So WYSIWYG.
