A massive game this week for Fintry Athletic vs Forfar United. Forfar rightly so are top of the table but a win would see is move just three points behind them.

Although, I'm just looking to grab third spot in the league, which could happen with a win or draw, depending on results.

We are on an 8 match winning streak but the last time we played Forfar, they walloped us 5-0!!

Another big week in our season.

We travel to QoH in the league and really need to be winning these games against sides battling at the wrong end of the table so hopefully we can do a professional job.
The chasing pack are right on our tail (and there are a few of them!!) so 3pts is vital. Looks like title is going to the wire this season.

We also have a 3-1 advantage in MOA Open Cup Final so would be great to bring home the trophy so hope luck is on our side.

Got to be disappointed with league result, especially with only 2 of the top 8 winning as it feels like a chance to get slightly ahead has been blown.

On the plus side this week, even a 1-0 defeat was enough to see us lift the first trophy of the season in the MOA Open Cup :D :D

Dominated the game against Forfar but like when you play any team that's at the top of the table, they will go up the park and score the only goal of the game in the 88th minute

A hard one to take and we now fall to 5th place, 4 points off 3rd spot.

I'm pretty sure Atletico's crushing defeat this week signals the end of our title challenge this season. No win in 3 and after today, I can't see things improving any time soon grrrr

Mixed results for my lot as Kildare deservedly lose 2-0 at Long Eaton Swiss. Parkside R on the other hand won 3-0 at Castle R,not much in the game but our best result for a while.

Not a bad week overall ? maybe couple of results could have been better !!

City win away at Tyldesley in huge six pointer !!!

City was on the road to fellow promotion chasing Tyldesley Panthers in a match both needed to win to keep them in the race , City named one change from the side that won last week with Phillippe Sandler coming back into the heart of defence in place of Zachary Grech.

with the match kicked off it was another tight affair as it always is between me and Dave and with the early banter well out the way it was the business to get done ! The match was very slow with neither side taking risks but with Vincent Vieira making a crunching tackle on Nikolai Gregorev City was trying to get a foot hold of the midfield battle ! With the ball in the safe possession of Moraes Ederson he had the time to play a short pass to Erik Walker with Tyldesley backing off he was able to carry the ball to the half way line where he played a short ball into Gabriel Torres who in turn played a quick through ball that took out the deep sitting Tyldesley players to find Riyad Sterling , Tyldesley now sensing danger started to apply the pressure ! Sterling was able to wiggle through
and evade the challenges to play a short pass into the tightly marked Bernabe de Silva with a quick shift of his feet he gave Madchester City the lead as he blazed a brilliant shot into the back of the net from way outside the area after showing some lovely foot craft to get himself into position and send the traveling City faithful wild and into full voice !! With City in front Tyldesley had to step up a gear and almost drew level when Auli Enotrass picked up a loose pass midway in the City half and feed the ball into the path of Jesus Santiago who shot from just inside the Madchester City area to pull a fine stop out of Moraes Ederson and win a corner. With not much action in the first half City take the narrow lead at half time. With the sides taking the pitch for the second half neither managers make changes with both happy with the first half display ? As the second half wore on Tyldesley manager was getting very verbal on the touchline I don't know if this was to pump up his players or he'd missed the half time tea lady and his biscuits ?? But the verbal volley he was giving out had a negative effect as Gerard Gundogan played a brilliant diagonal ball to Erik Walker who was in miles of space down the right wing , he's was able to make a surging run to the by line he floated in a perfect cross that was reached with a crisp header from Fernando de Jesus that had Tyldesley keeper Christopher Dorricot beat for only to see the ball come back off the post and away to safety !! Again Tyldesley had chances to draw level but seemed off the pace today and lacking the killer touch with the game ticking on City made the first call to the bench when Andre Zeklos was brought on for Gabriel Torres and not long after Shane Zaha was brought on for Bernabe de Silva who had done the damage in the first half to the cheers of the away fans !! With little more action the ref finally called time and City take the morale boosting win !

City and Tyldesley was a very close match and a draw would have been fair but City make the one of the few chances they create count and keep in the race , with Berwick and Sant picking up defeats City now move to second and breathing down the neck of Sant Antioco can they keep it up ???

Wba record back to back wins for only second time this season !!

Wba was home to relegation threatened Hammerfall Fc looking to cement Mid table and give themselves much need space from bottom 3 , Kyle Edwards returns up front in place of Tymo Reus in the only change from the side that won last week.

With kick off underway it's Wba who take control of the game pushing Hammerfall deep into their own half ! With the midfield three of Morten Thorsby , Nick Clayton-Phillips and Dwight McNeil who has settled into the team brilliantly since his arrival controlling the centre of the pitch and looking a creative force ! Dwight McNeil picked up the ball just inside the Hammerfall half and was able to play an inch perfect through ball to seek out Jamie Rodriguez who's first time shot forced Hammerfall keeper Robert Simpson into a fine save ! With Wba creating plenty but lacking that killer touch it was hard to see when Hammerfall could break the shackles and attack themselves but with a mistake from Rhys Williams , Hammerfall striker Ahmed Musa was able to let fly from the edge of the area but found his shot well held by Wba keeper Julian Speroni midway in the first half ! It wasn't long before Wba had Hammerfall pushed back again into their own half and searching for the opener , with a brilliant run down the wing from Silvio Anocic he was able to get just outside the 18 yard box with a cross pitch pass found an unmarked Nick Clayton-Phillips with the Hammerfall defence pushed high he was able to send the ball over for the returning Kyle Edwards to give Wba the lead as he smashed the ball into the back of the net from twenty yards after beating a badly executed offside trap in the 31st minute to finally ease the nerves of the Wba faithful ! With the match restarted it wasn't long before Wba was on the ball again , Morten Thorsby was quick to pick out a quiet Zakky Mirralas who held the ball up perfectly ! with the Hammerfall defence looking completely lost where the ball was he was able to lay it off to the inform Dwight McNeil to put Wba further ahead as he chipped the ball perfectly over the keeper from twenty-five yards following a dreadful mix up in the Hammerfall defence and it was what Wba deserved and to take a comfortable lead in at half time.
With the second half underway it was very much as the first finished there was an odd moment when Hammerfall again managed to break the relentless pressure from Wba to mount a counter attack and again see the chances go begging and a inform Julian Speroni. Wba again took control after the small scare to pass the ball round with ease and conviction but couldn't quite find the right ball to add to the score line ! With the second half ticking on Wba made their first change when Isaac Green was brought on for Morten Thorsby and moments later to a standing ovation Kyle Edwards made way for Tymo Reus , with news and rumours still going round of the futures of Kyle Edwards and Jamie Rodriguez the Wba faithful will be hoping that they can bring in players to match these two club legends ??

It was a deserved result for Wba and was nice to see back to back wins again for a team that's been underperforming all season ! With Mid table a safe bet and a nice comfy points gap from the bottom three , I can now start to think about getting one or two more new players in for the new season ?

Forest slump again as promotion chance slowly going up in smoke !!

Forest was on the road this week and looking to bounce back from last weeks narrow defeat to get promotion push back on track ! With one change from the side that lost last week with the more defence minded Ryan Yates coming into midfield in place of Larry Arter to hopefully win the midfield battle.

Kick off and Forest was slow from the off miss placed passes and poor organisation in the defence led to Apocalyptic City getting the better chances and having more of the ball ! It wasn't long before one of the miss placed passes was intercepted and the attack on ! Ally Mitchell picked up a sloppy ball from Jayden Cash to set Apocalyptic City on there way with a long ball forward to pick out striker Jak Zalapski who then fed the ball to the well advanced Terry Shannon chipped the ball perfectly over the keeper from way outside the area following a good run from his own half to give Apocalyptic City the lead. You would think the goal would have woken Forest up but again from kick off it was again Apocalyptic City that looked the more dangerous and Apocalyptic's Ally Mitchell bossing the midfield ! Forest eventually managed to find some momentum and got a break themselves when Ethan Dekel-Daks bombed forward into the Apocalyptic City half feeding a nice weighted pass into the feet of Perrins Van Hooijdonk who managed to turn and shoot to get a brilliant save from Martin Earley who tipped the ball round the post to win Forest a corner ! From the corner Jayden Cash floated a lovely ball into the box and Diogo Carvalho brought the teams back on level terms as he prodded an easy shot into the back of the net from two yards after showing some nice control to get himself into position for Forest to be level against the run of play ! Forest manager was hoping this was the turning point but that was short lived as 2 minutes after the re-start Apocalyptic City found themselves back in front when Jason Rogers curled a magnificent shot into the back of the net from way outside the area following a comical mix up in the Forest C.F.C defence. Again Forest looked lifeless and not playing like a team chasing promotion and went in at half time deservedly behind.
Second half started abit better for Forest but Apocalyptic still had the wind behind the sails , Forest eventually make a call to the bench when the very poor Ryan Yates was hooked for Larry Arter but the the change did nothing for Forest as he couldn't find the range of passes to open up the Apocalyptic defence ! Apocalyptic City got their rewards again when the brilliant Ally Mitchell got the goal he deserved when he prodded a simple shot into the net from close range after a forceful attack down the centre from Sebastian Vettel ! With the game safe Apocalyptic made their first change when Zeb Henry brought on for Jason Rogers with Forest chasing a miricle they made their last change when the ineffective Jay Lolley made way for Innocent Emeghara but it was to little to late for Forest with the game ticking down they just couldn't mount a comeback and fall to a deserved defeat!

It was a poor showing from Forest and Apocalyptic City deserved the win and the three points ! It's now back to back defeats for Forest as they see their promotion hopes slowly going up in smoke ! Forest will need a major turn around to have any hopes of closing the gap on the top 3 and I think that this result finally put the nail in the coffin ?

Well the Moa Open Cup has finally come to the end for another season ! thanks everyone for entering again it's been a pleasure to run and you lot make it so easy to do !! Wba couldn't over turn the first leg defeat and the tin cup goes to Carl and his Vaga Valiants who put the first trophy in the cabinet as he continues his chase for the treble !!! Well done Carl 8)

Prize break down so please the teams involved have down on next weeks orders in misc section and I will email Glynn to confirm
