We're on a decent run and need to keep it going as we visit Lochar Thistle this week. Surprised to see them at the wrong end of the table to be honest, and I am expecting a close game.

We also take on Forest Park in the cup, another big game as we have done well in the SLFA Cup over the seasons and want to keep fighting on as many fronts as we can. Forest have a decent side and are looking to push for promotion this season - certainly won't be a pushover.

Hopefully good fortune shines on us for second leg of MOA Open Cup Semi.

Berwick Hills played out their Soccer Star Cup 3rd Round fixture in front of the TV cameras and a record crowd at the Old Vic. 26,691 witnessed the 6-goal thriller but unfortunately, the home fans only got to celebrate 2 of those in a fairly comprehensive 2-4 loss to Premier League outfit South Gyle Athletic. The 5,941 travelling support returned home in party mood knowing that their team are in the hat for the Quarter Finals - Good Luck to them in the rest of the competition. :D

A slightly smaller crowd of 14,502 saw Berwick get back to winning way in the league with a 2-0 home victory over a hard-working Trafford Rhino's side, to keep the promotion campaign on track. There are some very tough games to come in the final third of the season, but it's exciting times for the club. :D

Average week overall , couple of teams need to improve !

City face off in huge six pointer away at Methley Ravens !

Going into the match both teams level on points and in the hunt for promotion ! City make a few changes from last week as Tyson Harwood-Bellis come in for Danny Ake , Gerard Gundogan comes in for his first full start in place of Gabriel Torres who can only make the bench and Enes De Bruyne drops deeper into a more midfield role as Riyad Sterling gets the chance to shine in a more advanced role. Kick off and it's Methley Ravens who seem to have the earlier possession with the ball as they push City back with some nice passing football but find chances going to waste in the early minutes but soon Methley Ravens was forced into a mistake when Shay Gallagher failed to control a simple pass and Riyad Sterling nipped in first to steal the ball with City on the front foot he slid an inch perfect pass into the path of Bernabe de Silva who rounded the on rushing keeper and tapped the ball into the empty net after beating a poorly executed offside trap in the 5th minute ! City with their noses in front couldn't quite get hold of the ball and was punished 3 minutes later when Calum McDade bundled a simple shot over the line from close range after some great passing football again from Methley Ravens , to put the teams back on level terms in the 8th minute ! Again Methley Ravens seem to knock the ball around with ease but can't quite breakdown the now solid City defence and resort to shots from outside the box. Both teams going in at half time level with Methley Ravens seeing plenty of the ball but City having the better chances.
After the the half time break and the managers team talks both sides come out unchanged and again it's Methley Ravens looking more confident on the ball but City looking deadly on the break ! It wasn't long before this was evident when Enes De Bruyne played an inch perfect cross field ball that sent Fernando de Jesus skipping away down the left wing with the Methley Ravens defence split and trying to get back he managed to whip in a cross which found Vincent Vieira who poked an easy shot past the keeper from close range following some great build up play to give City the lead again in the 55th minute , with City having their noses in front it wasn't long after that the City manager made his first change when Gabriel Torres took to the field for Gerard Gundogan who is still finding match fitness to add some much needed energy into the City midfield ! Ten minutes later the City manager made his second change when Shane Zaha was brought on for the clubs leading scorer Bernabe de Silva to give Methley Ravens something else to think about , both sides had a few more chances but the subs for City seemed to take the sting out of Methley Ravens who found themselves pushed deeper into their own half and the fast approaching full time whistle.

The game was very even with Methley Ravens seeing abit more of the ball but finding their chances wasted and City looking very clinical and taking their better chances well , the win keeps City third and in a good position in the race for promotion , still along way to go yet !!

Again we see the ugly side of Wba as they suffer deserved defeat !

Wba are just all over the place at the minute and just can't seem to build any consistency ? They go into today's home game against the league leaders Sant'Antioco unchanged and looking to build on last weeks hard earned point ! Kick off and from the first minute it's all Sant'Antioco as they push Wba right back into their own half and knock the ball around with ease and purpose but they find Julian Speroni and the Wba defense standing firm despite the pressure mounting as the minutes tick but they somehow manage to keep them at bay and go in at half time level at 0-0 ?
With the managers team talks complete both teams return to the field unchanged and again from the first minute Wba are pegged back and riding their luck ! It was an uneventful second half until both managers look to the bench to try and make something happen the first change come from Wba when Isaac Green was brought on for the in-effective Dwight McNeil this sparked the first change from Sant'Antioco when Luca Viviani was brought on for Jamie Greene and again Wba look lacklustre and Sant'Antioco are getting closer and closer to the net and you could feel it was only a matter of time before the Wba defence is breeched ? Wba make their final change when Tymo Reus came on for Kyle Edwards to try and spark some life but no such luck with some sloppy play in the Wba midfield Petr Bilik managed to pick up the ball and with a quick one two with Bakary Traore , Barrie Blakeman gave Sant'Antioco the lead as he poked an unmissable shot past the keeper from two yards following some super build up play to finally give Sant'Antioco the lead they deserved in the 79th minute ! with Wba looking all over the place it wasn't long before they was caught out again when Arley Rodriguez put Sant'Antioco further ahead as he headed in cleanly from inside the six-yard area following some nice build up play down the left from Bakary Traore to give Sant'Antioco the 3 points and a lead they fully deserved !!

Wba was poor this week and it's hard to see why ? they are playing like a team where you may aswell flip a coin and hope it lands on the team that will turn up and perform ? Not taking anything away from Sant'Antioco they fully deserve the win.

Forest get a well earned point on the road to the very well organised Selly All Stars who I believe next season will be pushing higher up the table than they are this season ! The squad has it in them and the manager has the credentials to do the job !

From the first minute both team created chances and with the five man defence Selly had set up to play they was well equipped to deal with the Forest front line , it didn't take long before Selly hit Forest on the break as Forest committed players forward Ollie Harfield was able to step out from defence to intercept the pass and launch the counter attack with a quick ball to Chris Smith who manages to play a simple pass into Helias Doundoulakis who tapped a simple shot into the back of the net from two yards following a great move down the right to give the Selly All Stars faithful a great start in the 9th minute ! With Forest behind it seemed to make them step up the gear and take over the ball for some time as they tried to pass the ball around to open up the Selly defence ! It took some time after the first goal before we got out second but a brilliant through ball from the Forest playmaker Diogo Carvalho had Innocent Emeghara break the offside trap and through on goal with just the keeper to beat a clumsy challenge from behind from Jordan Zemura took Innocent Emeghara off his feet and the ref had no choice but to point to the spot ! With the jeering home faithful Bryan Roy managed to keep his cool under pressure and equalise from the penalty spot sending Mujeed Ur Rahmanth the wrong way and the teams back on level terms ! It's what both teams deserved going in at half time whistle level.
The second half was much the same as the first with Forest looking slightly the better side but the five man Selly defence holding firm and keeping Forest at bay ! with the action hitting a quiet spell midway through the second half there came a flurry of activity from both benches as Forest brought Larry Arter on for Ryan Yates to try and open that Selly back line up this was quickly followed by Selly making a change to the attacking options when Timmy Annable came on for Tim Jackson to try and inject some life into the Selly front line ! With Forest still trying to find the winner Innocent Emeghara finally made way for Perrins Van Hooijdonk and with Selly trying to close out the match Cardigan Connor brought on for Chris Smith. The action had died down and it looked like both teams was happy to see the game out at 1-1 ?

It was a fair result overall ? Forest had a few wasted chance that maybe on another day might have grabbed them the second ? but by no means was Selly out this game and the future looks bright for them ! The draw did no harm to Forest who still hang onto the tails of the top three.

Moa open cup semi final second leg completed and well done to Carl and his Vaga side who will face my Wba side in the final , commiserations to Woody and Dave who just couldn't get over the line this time , both will receive 500k for losing semi finalists I'll post when the final is over to remind you to have it down :) .... Thanks again everyone for entering

Have a good weekend everyone 8)

Perfect game day for Vaga this week.

Good league win, into the hat for next round of the cup and into the final of MOA Open Cup.

7th win on the trot for Fintry and a 3rd consecutive cleansheet.

6 points separating 1st place and us in 4th but no-one seems like they are slipping up soon.

Hopeful of a new arrival next week in our quest for promotion.
