Well not a bad week overall , we are slowly improving across the leagues

City bounce back from last weeks defeat with smash and grab win !!!

City on the road took on Black Moon at the Forsaken Falls Stadium , after last weeks harsh defeat City needed to get back on track to keep the pace with the top 3 and Black Moon after their mauling at Forest was a perfect game for them to do so ! City manager made a few changes to the squad with Enes De Bruyne being pushed into a more advanced roll in place of Shane Zaha who was pushed to the bench and Gabriel Torres come into the midfield , City also welcomed back Gerard Gundogan who makes his first appearance for the club this season after a lengthy lay off with injury on the bench.

Kick off and Black Moon started with purpose with some nice flowing football creating chances in the early minutes of pressure forcing City back into their own half , as Black Moon push forward they was leaving themselves open for the counter and soon found themselves behind in the 7th minute when the more advanced De Bruyne flicked an easy shot over the line from close range after latching onto a brilliantly weighted pass from Riyad Sterling. This was a blow to Black Moon who was seeing large parts of the ball in the opening minutes. Again with Black Moon keeping City pegged back in there own half it wasn't long before City again hit them on the break this coming in the 9th minute when Zachary Grech was able to beat the Black Moon defence to the second ball from a corner to chip the ball sweetly over the keeper from way outside the area following a desperate scramble inside the box to give City an undeserved lead into the half time whistle. The second half carried on much the same with City standing firm in the face of pressure and Moraes Ederson in fine form between the posts. With City happy to soak up the pressure and hitting Black Moon on the break forcing the City manager to make changes to the City line up with the impressive Riyad Sterling making way for the returning Gerard Gundogan and Shane Zaha coming on for the out of sorts Bernabe de Silva to try and take control of a game that was so one sided , it almost paid off when again Black Moon pushing forward , City hit them on the break and Gerard Gundogan hitting a thunder bolt from 25 yards against the crossbar ! Black Moon soon managed to break City down when in the 87th minute Castor Troy smashed a spectacular shot past the keeper from way outside the area following a super run from the centre circle to set up a tense few minutes to the final whistle ! City managed to hold on and take the 3 points home.

It was a smash and grab result for City and Black Mood deserved more than they got ! but we needed a result like this and with the teams above slipping up it's allowed City to haul themselves into the top 3 ! We need better performances than this but after last weeks shock defeat it was nice to be on the other side of the coin !

The games I don't enjoy , when two of mine face off !!!

Wba hosted Forest Cfc at The Bramblethorns Stadium and looking to try and get some consistency in their results and build on last weeks win ! Wba named one change from the side that won last week with a debut being handed to new boy Dwight McNeil who come in for Isaac Green who returned to the bench ! Forest looking to keep up with the promotion pace setters needed a decent performance against a very strong Wba side decided to go with the more defensive minded Ryan Yates in place of Larry Arter who returned to the bench.

From kick off Forest took control of the game and the Swap round in the midfield engine room seemed to pay off as they was winning the midfield battle with Ryan Yates keeping new boy Dwight McNeil in his pocket in the early exchanges as Wba again looked slow getting started ! they paid the price when in the 9th minute Forests leading scorer Jay Lolley hammered the ball into the back of the net with a superb volley from ten yards after a brilliant cross from the by line from Diogo Carvalho to give Forest the lead they deserved ! Wba had the odd chance themselves when Zakky Mirralas heading wide from a Morten Thorsby corner and new boy Dwight McNeil blazed a shot over from 20 yards to really sum up Wba down and out of luck ! Forest kept probing looking for the second with both Bryan Roy and Ethan Dekel-Daks both wasting gilt edged chances as the minutes ticked down to the half time whistle and Forest going in with the deserved narrow lead. The second half was again all Forest with them taking control of the battle in midfield and the Wba front line looking lost and un-creative with the ball the half time team talk not really sparking any major improvement ! With chances going to waste from each side it was time for the managers to make the call for fresh legs and it was Forest taking the lead when the tired but dominant Ryan Yates making way for Larry Arter , this sparked some movement from Wba as Dwight McNeil who had a quiet game in his standard made way for Isaac Green , it wasn't long again before both sides made the second changes in the game as Wba introduced Kyle Edwards for Tymo Reus and five minutes later Innocent Emeghara made way for Perrins Van Hooijdonk for Forest Cfc with the game reaching the final minutes Jay Lolley grab his second of the game in the 88th minute when he poked an un-missable shot into the net from close range following a desperate scramble inside the box this killed any hopes of Wba grabbing a late equaliser and finally but the game to bed and Wba again looking at the sky for answers ???

Forest deserved the win and controlled the game from the off it was a needed win but the alarming part is how easily they they kept Wba quiet this win keeping them in the race for the top 3 ? Wba again fail to build on the odd win they pick up and sit in the lower ebs of the table and on performances like this it's where they deserve ! with two new players arriving today for Wba it could again be debuts next week as in reality survival is the goal for Wba now !

All Moa open cup games played ! thanks everyone we say congratulations to AFC Wokingham , Tyldesley Panthers , Wba and Vaga Valiants who make the semi finals , unlucky to everyone else and thanks for taking part better luck next year ! everything is up to date and the Semi Final fixtures sorted and ready for next weeks first leg ! :)

Have a good weekend everyone 8)
