Tough game against Hodgoblin FC this week, hope home advantage helps us a bit. First game in a series of 3 extra tough games.

A tough time away to Kilburn Panthers. We have to put the disappointment of last week behind us and get back to winning ways.

With only 9 games left, we can't afford any more slip ups.

Last week we produced our worst performance of the season. I changed the formation and we blew Ajax City away with 3 goals in the first 18 minutes. Our next 4 fixtures are against teams fighting relegation so chance to go on a bit of a run now.

The SS week ends as it begun....with disappointment.

Vaga dominated the game but ultimately failed to score and it cost us any kind of points

Need to get scoring boots on for next week's league and cup games.

Both my sides beat unmanaged teams this week which given my record against them it isn't a given,so happy for Kildare to win 1-0 at home to Crewe and Parkside winning 4-0 at home to Parkvale.

Sorry everyone busy day yesterday ! Not a bad week overall one maybe two results let me down for a clean week !

City slip despite dominating display but manage to hold second !

City was home to the impressive Apocalyptic City so named an unchanged side from last week win !

Kick off and it was all City from the first whistle seeing alot of the ball and putting some great passes together , Erik Walker charged forward down the right and linking up well with Gerard Gundogan who managed to evade the tackles and play the ball back down the wing for Erik Walker to cut inside and find Riyad Sterling who manages to get the ball from out his feet and lets fly from the edge of the 18 yard box and the chance fizzed by the post , which sent a warning to Apocalyptic City that the game wasn't going to be easy !! Soon it was Gabriel Torres to pick up the ball midway into the Apocalyptic with a nice short pass he was able to pick out Fernando de Jesus who evaded the tackle from Darren Rankin to continue his run into the Apocalyptic with a brilliant pull back catching the run of City's leading scorer Bernabe de Silva to fire tameless at Martin Earley ! With City having the lions share of the ball Riyad Sterling went on a mazy
run , with the City bodies getting forward for the attack Apocalyptic defender Terry Shannon but in a brilliantly timed tackle to steal the ball with the change in possession he was able to launch a counter attack to catch City out with a long ball forward to Jak Zalapski it left City exposed in a 2 v 2 situation , Jak Zalapski was able to flick the ball on with his head beating Tyson Harwood-Bellis to the ball and setting Roger Teate through on goal with Erik Walker in chase ! Roger Teate made his way into the City area and was ready to pull the trigger when Erik Walker made a last ditched attempt to tackle clearly missing the ball and taking out the standing leg of Roger Teate leaving the ref no choice but to award a stone clod penalty in the 24th minute ! Erik Walker
was lucky not to see his marching orders ! With Roger Teate placing the ball on the spot he lashed the ball just beating Moraes Ederson to give Apocalyptic City an undeserved lead. With City back in control again from kick off the first half passed by with little more action !
Second half no changes to report at half time Apocalyptic City get us underway and again sit deep in their own half happy to take the pressure from City ! With another fizzled shot from Fernando de Jesus going wide you could see it wasn't going to be City's night ! Apocalyptic City looked organised in defence and was happy to keep trying to catch City on the counter ! So City called the first change when Andre Zeklos was brought on for Gabriel Torres to add some much needed pace into the City midfield in the hope of catching some tired legs out ! Moments later City rolled the dice again when Shane Zaha was brought on for Bernabe de Silva in the hope he could beat the organised defence ? Apocalyptic City made a change of their own with sensing the desperation Zeb Henry was brought on for Roger Teate in the hope of catching City short at the back ! but the game passed by with Apocalyptic City soaking up the pressure to take home a brilliant 3 points.

City deserved more from the match they had the chances and the ball ! alot of wasted opportunities aswell , It's a slip but lucky enough the teams around us have an off week ! Need to bounce back starting next week !

Three wins on the spin for a rejuvenated Wba in tight affair !!

Wba found themselves on the road this week to fellow Mid table Trafford Rhinos naming an unchanged side from last week. With little banter between the managers through the week I feel Dave was still licking his wounds from last weeks narrow win ? but just before kick off Dave promised a cuppa and marmalade digestives at full time !!

Kick off and like all our matches it was tight with both sides playing cautious but it was Trafford Rhino's to fire the first warning when Miguel Azeria picked up a sloppy pass in midfield with a short pass to Maciek Horaczo he managed to avoid the slide tackle from Nick Clayton-Phillips to feed a brilliant ball down the wing to the well advanced Bakary Janko with Wba trying to organise at the back Bakary Janko lofted a brilliant cross into the box which was met by the head of Noel Punch but his header lacked the punch needed and it was safely picked up by Julian Speroni in the Wba goal ! Now the play swung and it was Wba's turn to advance forward Dwight McNeil picking up the ball deep inside the Trafford Rhinos half he wiggled through two challenges to feed the ball to Zakky Mirralas on the edge of the area who turned first time and shot but found his effort tame and well wide ! With both sides creating chances it was Trafford Rhino's who looked the more likely to break the deadlock and score but the first half trickled away with neither side taking going in at half time in the lead !
Second half and no changes at the half time whistle it was Trafford Rhino's to get us underway , Maciek Horaczo picked up the ball in midfield for Trafford Rhino's but his passing this time was sloppy as his crossed field ball was headed clear by Jamil Muhammad and the clearance falling to Dwight McNeil who quickly played a first time ball into the path of Morten Thorsby , Morten Thorsby managed to avoid the tackle from Jakob Skuleson to advance with the ball deep into the Trafford Rhinos half with a short ball into the feet of Kyle Edwards who showed brilliant control to cross first time to Jamie Rodriguez who gave West Brinsley Albion the lead as he headed in beautifully from eighteen yards after a driving attack down the centre in the 48th minute ! I looked over at Dave and he was sunk in the dugout a few more hairs less than kick off and I had the feeling them marmalade digestives was off the table at full time ?? You could sense the game was going to be decided by the single goal that one bit of magic but Trafford Rhino's wasn't finished Errol Zaman put in a brilliant challenge on Kyle Edwards as was ableto get Trafford Rhino's on the attack with a long ball forward to Jakob Skuleson to drive forward deep into the Wba half he managed to find an unmarked Jack Martin who managed to shoot first time and pull out a cracking save from Julian Speroni ! With the legs looking tired Wba made the first call to the bench when Isaac Green was brought on for tired Nick Clayton-Phillips followed 5 minutes later when Wba made their second change when Kyle Edwards madeway for Tymo Reus in the hope to stabilise the tiring Wba team ! It wasn't long after Trafford Rhino's made their first change when Cawil Abdulmajid was brought on for Jack Martin to try and find that goal ! And 8 minutes later Gary Cherrett was brought on for Maciek Horaczo to try and add some much needed energy in the middle of the park but Wba was able to stand firm in the dyeing embers to take home a hard earned 3 points !!

It was a close game and Trafford Rhino's had plenty of chances to level ! it took one piece of magic to separate these two Mid table sides and it fell Wba's way !

Forest edge out Berwick in close encounter to re-light promotion chances ......

Forest make two changes to the side that lost last week with Berwick coming to town ! Larry Arter comes in for Ryan Yates in the hope of adding that creative spark from midfield and Alex Mighten makes the bench in place of the injured Innocent Emeghara.

Kick off and from the first minute Berwick Hills had lined up to park the bus and looking to pick Forest out with a counter attack ! Diogo Carvalho picked the ball up midway inside the Berwick half and was quickly closed down by Patrick Yorke and Yeet Siker with the latter picking up the loose ball and playing a quick pass forward to Phil Stamp who dodges the slide challenge from Ethan Dekel-Daks to get Berwick on the attack ! with a quick one , two with James Maloney on the edge of the Forest area his fierce shot was tipped round the post by Forest keeper Joe Pantilimon to send the first warning that Berwick was in no mood to sit and take the pressure ! Berwick's former Forest player Lucas Meier picks up the ball on the half way line and finds himself on the deck after a crunching challenge from Jayden Cash who was lucky to come away with a strong word from the ref ! With a short free kick it was Berwick again advancing with the ball Andrei Ivan playing a brilliant ball down the wing for the jet heeled Yeet Siker to beat Nathaniel Phillips to the ball ! with a brilliant cross into the box looking for Markus Svensson only to be beat to the ball by the head of Forest central defender Chioma Ajunwa to head the ball clear ! With both sides wasting chances they went in level at half time.
With neither Forest or Berwick making changes the second half got underway and it was Forest that looked like they had the wind behind the sails. With Forest's Jayden Cash picking up the ball deep insdie his own area he played a great ball into midfield to find Ethan Dekel-Daks who managed to wiggle away from Phil Stamp to get Forest on the attack with a quick ball into the feet of Diogo Carvalho who in turn advanced with the ball sending a defence splitting pass into the the advanced Larry Arter who was deep inside the Berwick area he managed to turn Kyle Sneddon inside out and play the ball back to Bryan Roy who cracked a spectacular shot over the line from just outside the area following some good build up play down the centre to give Forest the lead in this tense battle. With their noses behind Berwick had to push forward but found the Forest midfield breaking up Berwicks attacks with some strong challenges going in ! With the Berwick players demanding a free kick for what looked like a poor challenge on Lucas Meier Forest again was able to break forward with Diogo Carvalho finding the ball and playing it long to Larry Arter with Berwick back peddling Larry Arter played a brilliant ball into the path of Ethan Dekel-Daks who put Forest further ahead as he flicked an easy shot over the on rushing Sam Shanklin into the net from close range following a stupid mix up in the Berwick Hills defence ! With the Berwick players swarming the ref over the poor challenge on Lucas Meier and the protests being waved away things got heated in the technical area as it looked like Craig Maloney kicked a water bottle away in anger and making his way to on looking Forest manager Chris Hinchley with the forth official having to step in to break up the strong words between the managers ! with the game clearly in Forest favour they made the first change when Ryan Yates was brought on for Larry Arter who had done his job to shore up the Forest midfield. This sparked a flurry of activity for Berwick's manager when Donald Willington was brought on for for the well marshalled James Maloney and Teddy Morgan was brought on for Andrei Ivan in midfield , with the clock ticking down Forest made the final call when Alex Mighten was brought on for Jay Lolley to give the rookie striker some much needed minutes ! With the game slowly reaching the end Berwick Hills just couldn't find the pass or the chance to pull a goal back after finding a well organised Forest defence today.

It's was another close match and it boiled down to clinical finishing ! both sides went into the game with back to back defeats but this morale boosting win relights Forest's slim chances of promotion and leaves Berwick's manager needing to sort a team out that clearly has it's head dropped.

Sorry abit late again this week started last night in the hope to post but a mate called and I had to put laptop down

Have a good weekend everyone :D

A 4th 1-0 victory in 7 matches for us. Totally deserved for Fintry.

It's certainly tight at the top with 7 points between the top 5.
