Soccer Star

Following harsh criticism after their disappointing goalless draw in the opening game, WPL came out today determined to show their class, and they did this with style, crushing the Elz, who had themselves won in their first game.

The game was already over by half-time, WPL already 4-0 ahead. Two more in the second half just added to the misery for Elz, although they're still far from out of this competition. Two goals apiece from Jones and Obrda and one each for Newton and Sherman did the damage.

WPL are now almost certainly into the knock-out stages unless they themselves are thrashed in their final game.

Elz now go into a tense final game against AEL, knowing that only a win will secure their spot. AEL know that a draw will be good enough to see them through, and WS are now out of the competition.

Easy ! Easy ! Easy !
