I've started working on the scrolling highlights text. So far I quite like it, it's certainly better than it was, but there are a few issues. For now, if you hit 'Next Highlight', it'll appear slowly rather than all at once. It does at least make it possible to read the highlights that way now.

Any ideas and suggestions, let me know. I'm not considering this finished yet.

The whole problem I felt was the unnecessary requirement (compared to SS1) of having to keep clicking to reveal each line of text.

All we want (well myself anyway lol) is to have the same feature as SS1, specifically you click to see the highlights reveal themselves one line at a time and this takes one click for the entire match and ideally you have the option to change the speed of the reveal based upon how quickly you read/how much suspense you want to build up.

No sign of any of that (not really noticing any difference to how it was at the start bar the line revealing faster but in fairness I gave up on it after one matchday so that is probably my faulty memory) :-)

Ok, well I've fixed a bug that's been there since the beginning, where if you were clicking on other matches, it was just revealing on the first match anyway.

It's now scrolling the text, rather than just showing the next line immediately. So it's slower now.

Because browsers are so fiddly to work with, having it reveal the lines one by one is a bit awkward but I'm fairly sure that it can done. I'll need to ask for help on forums though because nothing is easy in browsers. SS1 was done in a programmable window... oh the joy of actually having control over your own program.....

Plus even the SS1 isn't 100% useful (as any game with more than a few lines means not seeing the lines as they are revealed) so clearly a tricky proposition, good luck :-)

That's a good point. If the SS1 isn't very good then not much point copying it.

The SS1 one is perfect. The problem is you have pre-set boundaries (beyond your control I know) that result in the end of longer match commentaries not appearing on screen in real time and requiring scrolling through after the line completes.

The issue in SS1 is the client's window settings, not the scrolling itself (which is frankly light years better than SS2 right now even with the window issues). :-)

That's a classic example of where a browser is superior to a program window. Browsers just automatically take care of that sort of stuff. But the basic functionality is awkward in the browser. Fairly sure there's a way to chain the lines together somehow though.
