As another season draws to an end (my tenth in this league) and I have been blessed with my second British Supreme League championship, this seems an appropriate moment to walk away from this league. I have had a lot of fun with this league, certainly more than with many of the others and I would like to thank everyone who has managed one or more teams in this league over the past ten seasons as well as the likes of Chris Griffiths, Andrew Kelly and Rich Grove who have helped me with stats and league history.

Unfortunately, a lot of teams have been dropped this season in what was already a very underpopulated league and this combined with the current culling policy means that any new managers joining are at a significant disadvantage to the established sides and won’t be able to challenge for several seasons. In short, whilst it’s not a given that I or anyone else would win the league next season, it does seem a bit like playing the game on an “easy” difficulty setting and I think I would be happier dedicating my time to trying to win one of the six leagues I haven’t yet won (or, frankly, come close to winning!)

Wishing all managers in this league all the best for next season. Doubtless many of you will beat me in another league in the near future!

Always happy to have helped, albeit for a league that has been sadly underpopulated for many years now.

Unless you know something I don't (you might, I won't know until tonight when I get the latest lists  ) this is actually the fullest the BS has been in years with more managed teams than there has been since G;ynn asked the BS sides to move to new leagues years ago.

Admittedly it can be a little misleading with Chris G and Dave C having over half the managed sides in the league between them (have a feeling some/all may have gone in Dave's case with his real life issues to focus on so that may not be correct) so can't say as I blame you for looking for new challenges.

Turns out I was right for once.  Only 16 teams actually managed now, which is even fewer than I thought there were!

Yep, numbers have dropped, although interestingly still more in the BS than there was 3 years ago (14) or as low as it has ever gone (well in forum times anyway) at 11.

You called it right (as I half expected based on your comments and Dave's situation) though.

Reality is this league was supposed to be closed down in 2010 when Glynn asked managers to move their teams to new leagues so the fact it is still alive 7 years later says a lot for the loyalty of the handful who have stayed through those years (and a lot for Glynn's reluctance to rule with an iron hand  ).
