Looked back through my Queen of Hearts history today. I found it quite interesting so for anyone interested, here’s a summary of the past 11 and a bit seasons.

2011/12
Just 29 managed teams in the league – 15 in the Premier, 12 in Division One and 2 in Division Two. Just 12 of these – including mine – have been managed constantly from the time I joined to the present day by the same managers. Lost my first game at Tyldesley Panthers 0-5 (STILL my record defeat with this team). Finished the season 9th in Division One whilst Bedale Athletic (since renamed Navenby Vipers) won the league.

2012
Despite looking a good bet for promotion at one point, finished 4th in Division One after only picking up 10 points from the last 9 games. Unmanaged Bank Vale United won the league, to everyone’s embarrassment.

2013
Avoided relegation on goal difference by beating Hungerford 2-0 on the last day of the season. Osaka Pumas (now Warrington Vikings) won the league. They were in Division 2 two seasons before!

2013/14
Finished 4th in Division One whilst Bedale Athletic won the league again, this time by a 10 point margin.

Queen of Hearts won the MOA cup in one of the flukiest cup runs ever!

1st Round – Beat Allerton Dynamite from Division Two 4-2 at home.
2nd Round – Beat unmanaged Queen of Clubs from my division 4-1 on penalties following a 1-1 home draw. (Also played them at home in the league the same week and drew that game 0-0).
3rd Round – Beat Fintry Atletic (from my division) 2-1 after extra time in ANOTHER home tie.
Quarter Final – Beat Galston (from my division) 5-4 on penalties after a 2-2 away draw.
Semi-Final – Beat Royale Tigers 4-0 away as they somehow only put out a team with 10 players in the side.
Final – After a 0-0 draw against Thassos, won the penalty shoot out 2-1.
My first ever cup win having only beaten a team from a lower division and a team with 10 players inside 90 minutes!!!

2014
Finished 4th in Division One for the third time in four seasons. Went out of the cup in the 3rd round to eventual winners AFC Saints. South Gyle Athletic won the league.

2014/15
Finally secured promotion in a season where 8 Division One sides were unmanaged, finishing 2nd behind AFC Saints. Atletico Mango won the league. Had another cup win where I only really had to work at the last two games.

1st Round – Beat unmanaged Queen of Spades 3-0
2nd Round – Beat unmanaged Young Ones 5-0
3rd Round – Beat unmanaged Elverdale from Division 3 3-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
Quarter Final – Beat unmanaged Hungerford 1-0
Semi-Final: Beat Premier League side Royale Tigers 3-0 at home as they prioritised their league game.
Final: Beat Coventry UK 4-1 after they put out a team with only 9 players.

2015/16
Easily our best season. We finished 5th in the Premier, 8 points behind champions Vaga Valiants. We recorded our record win in week seven, 7-0 at home to unmanaged West Park Villa.

2016
We finished 11th with 38 points whilst Vaga Valiants won back to back league titles.

2016/17
We finished 11th again whilst Vaga Valiants won their third consecutive title, which is just taking the pee out of the rest of us!

2017
Avoided relegation by 1 point despite losing our last 3 games. Warrrington Vikings won the league.

2017/18
Finished 11th for the third time in four seasons whilst Warrington Vikings retained the league title.

2018
After 18 games we are last in the Premier with 10 points. We have the second most expensive squad in the league!!!

Think I had Elverdale for a few few months just never got into the MOA so quickly left that club. Was a shame.

Enjoyed the read, especially the 5-0 thrashing by Tyldesley

It's funny, I've been fortunate enough to win five league titles and five cups since returning to this game seven years ago, but hadn't realised until I went through this just how much of a fluke winning the MOA cup was both times - I had to work for the others!

I guess this can happen in the less-populated leagues depending upon who you get in the draw. I'm impressed I managed to get to a semi-final without playing another managed side, though!

Good read Mark, wish I'd kept a record of what Torpedo did in the MOA

I know they won the league twice in 2009/10 and 2010/11. May have more info somewhere.

And they've done pretty well in the NSA too, gliding upwards through the divisions. Of course, the only way is down now. :P

Here's the short version for you:

Joined MOA, beat Queen of Hearts home and away, got promoted, left.

Rejoined - repeat.

You've had a great record against me in this league.

When I look back I've dropped some good sides..regret letting Fintry go a few seasons back as had them back in the prem and they were doing well..and promptly dropped them...also had a side(can't remember name) that I think is Cov Uk now and they were bril/bril on att/def and setp and they were very useful aswell.
Daft really as any progress I made with teams was messed up by the resign twitch I had developed :)
