Cup week rolls round and Tiptree cause an upset (sort of) against struggling Prem side Hawthorn Utd with a fine 2-0 victory. Need to take that form into league games now and start climbing the table.

Swinton went through 2-1 in a game that was a lot harder than it should have been against an unmanaged Div. 3 side

Dinamo went out 3-2 at Tod-Hebden, but as that was quite a close game and not the usual kick up the jacksie I usually get from Simeon, I'm claiming a morale victory on that one

Barton Blitz......WPL 53 Wigan Wildcats....Opal 58
Swinton Pirates ....ELZ 24 Dinamo Petrovac....ELZ 54

All sides safely through, although some made it more difficult than others.

FCR have no problem dispatching Boca with one of the fringe guys doing his chances no harm with one of the goals. Obradovic made himself the joint top scorer in the ELZ with his brace in the game.

PSV ease through beating third division Port Cove 5-2 with another fringe lad, Zulj, opening the scoring on a rare start.

Loco might have their league problems but they had an easier time than I had expected, beating top of the second division Trumpton 2-0....really thought that was the one that looked like a shock.

Ridgmount almost became a shock as they were held to a 0-0 draw and required penalties to see off second division PSV Utd.

Finally Alliance got themselves 2-0 up against Dinamo Petrovac and looked to be cruising....only to concede two before half time. Fortunately, we managed to get the lead back again in the second half and squeeze through 3-2.

There's always next week...
