Week 12 Report

Today's big story is the first win of the season for Wight Wanderers.

Number of goals scored was 91- the 2nd highest so far. The highest this season is 96 in week 1, lowest is 52 in week 6 (last season it was 61 in week 12)

Premier League


Jedi Knights are 3 points clear of Aberdeen Terrors and St Marys Saint with an excellent 3-0 win at Armthorpe Rovers, who remain in the bottom three. Aberdeen remain unbeaten after their 3-0 win at home to Sylvan Lake and St Marys made it 4 away wins in a row with a Peter Osgood goal at Doncaster town. Sylvan Lake remain just a point clear of the drop zone.

Bentley Viking and Chaddesden Celtic are a point further back and they both had victories today, Chadd won 3-1 at Kamikaze Vipers and Bentley won 3-0 at Chester Town.

Abysmal Aftermath are off the bottom with a 3-1 at Mighty Chucks - a first home defeat in 12 for Chucks.

FC Abertawe made it 3 away wins in a row with a 2-1 win at Cusco. A first home defeat in 4 for Cusco but they are nicely placed with 17 points.

Loyal Rangers fell to a surprise 3-0 defeat at Belmont Buccaneers; Loyal are without an away in 4 and are 6th with 17 points.

The team of the week is Abysmal Aftermath - great away win.

Division 1


Whitby Town bounced back after 2 defeats with a 1-0 win at home to Northern Soul and still lead by 1 point from Funkademia, who coasted to a win at home to Askham Bryan United. The form team of the month are Xbana, who are up to 3rd with a 3-1 win at la Donny Luz.

Duffield Dynamos drop to 4th after a goalless draw at Southamton Sity. The top 4 have a 6 point cushion over York Rovers, who had a 3-1 win at Istra Pula.

The win of the day was at Hundon Harriers, where the opposition was Wight Wanderers, who had picked up just 2 points and scored 1 goal so far. It was 0-0 with a minute to go when up stepped George Rhino to rifle the ball home and give Wight all 3 points.

The remaining 2 games were both draws:
1-1 between The Survivors and East Riding Enterprise; a 4th game without defeat for Survivors and a 3rd without defeat for Riding.
2-2 between Tigre Victoria and Kesgrave Vespas; Vespas had led 2-0 with 2 goals in 45 seconds on the 16th minute but Tigre fought back to level in the 6th minute of stoppage time.

The team of the week goes to Wight Wanderers - first win of the campaign.

Division 2


Norfolk moved 4 points clear at the top with a win over Tadcaster as Par where held to a 0-0 draw by Bayern. The Islanders remain 3rd despite losing at home to Top Gun, who have hit top form with 5 wins and a draw in their last 6 games. Top Gun are up to 4th and a point off a top 3 spot.

Dell Diamonds and Bayern both have 18 points - the same as Top Gun; Dell lost at home to Corinthian Wizards. Wizards are 8th with 16 points.

There was a first win of the season for the bottom team, Woolwich manor who completed a surprise 2-0 win over Riverplate.

Wigan Wildcats were at home to Pickering Town and looked to be slipping to a 2-1 defeat with 2 minutes to go but Jones fired in from 30 yards and a minute later Sparwasser spotted the Pickering keeper off his line and scored with a sublime lob. A 4th game without defeat for Wigan; a 6th game without a win for Pickering.

There was exciting news for the Chapel North fans as Mark Steele was at the ground to watch his latest acquisition and he was not disappointed as they drew 3-3 with Leith Athletic.

The remaining game was a 1-1 draw between Stainsacre United and Scrubs; Jon James rescued a point for Stainsacre with a minute to go.

The team of the week is Top Gun - red hot form at present.

Division 3


Inter Southampton joined Death Valley at the top on 25 points after they won at Huntley Fairways and Death Valley drew at Blackmore Knights - a game where Blackmore should have won easily. Death valley remain unbeaten. After a great start to the season Huntley have now lost 3 in a row and need to find their mo-jo quickly. Cunnack Allstars remain 3rd despite a first loss of the season - 2-1 at Millmoor Rovers. South Ruislip are level on points with Cunnack after a 1-1 draw at Kiloparsec Villa.

Alfie Plum hit a first half hat-trick for Mann City in a 4-2 win at home to Wealdstone. A 3rd home win in a row for Mann City.

There was a 2nd win a row for Cupernham Rifles at Waterside but there dreadful start means they will have to wait for next season for the expected promotion push.

The battle at the bottom between Southern Vipers and Loko turned out a be a surprise in terms of goals as they shared 4 goals.

Molesley Shoals were 2 minutes away from a win at Yorkshires Finest when up stepped Timmy Flatt to power home a header to make it 2-2.

The team of the week goes Millmoor Rovers - ended Cunnack's unbeaten run.
